NATIONAL GOOF OFF DAY

Today,  March 22nd is National Goof Off Day

Celebrate by relaxing and enjoying the day. You can do anything and everything, except what you're supposed to do. Play some golf, or video games all day. Or spend extra time surfing the internet. Maybe you'd rather go window shopping or do nothing but curl up and read a book or maybe watch some TV. or maybe you want to just sit around and do absolutely nothing -That's if you won't get in trouble at work or school of course. You don't want to take the chance of getting fired.

A few years ago, a survey was performed to identify the most popular activity for goofing off. The top activity was playing video games. Who conducted the survey? Ninetendo.......no surprise. It kinda makes you wonder just who might have had the brainstorm to create this day......hmmmm

Origin of National Goof Off Day:

The origin of this day is unknown. We do suspect it was created by some hard working individual who finally got fed up of always doing what he( or she) was supposed to do. Most likely, they finally lost it, and took a day to just goof off. How do we know it wasn't created by someone who is always goofing off? Because they would have created Goof Off week, or month, or......

Oh, great! Now when my son gets home from a half day at school, he'll feel validated to do nothing but play video games. LOL. Happy Goof Off Day everyone!

In most cases, I believe these bogus holidays are created by greeting card companies, but I don't recall ever seeing a card to mark this one. I used to goof off occasionally, but now I'm too tired. :)

My son considers every day to be Goof Off Day.
And now, thanks to you Rosanne, I've learned there's a day set aside to honor this esteemed holiday.

Bogus Holidays and Goofy Groups:
Like you, I was too tired to Goof off on National Goofoff Day. Just like I was always going to join the Procrastinator's Club but never got around to it.

LOL thanks for the comments. I couldn't resist this one. Did I goof off. Not unless you call sitting in a doctor's office for two hours while hubby took a breathing test for his emphysema and then another hour waiting for the doc to give us the results goofing off. To me if I want to goof off, I'd like to do something fun. Fortunately, I took a book with me and was able to read for the first hour.
