Partisan Heart

I truly love Valentine’s Day because it makes me stop in my busy world and think about those I love.  In my case it’s a spouse I’ll soon be married to for forty years. Might I add it’s important to tell your children and grandchildren you love them, too.  How about those great friends you couldn’t survive without?  Here’s the opportunity – don’t miss it!

PARTISAN HEART - Book 2 – Tango of Death Series - Poland 1943-During WW II resistance movements  occurred in every occupied country by a variety of means, ranging from propaganda to outright warfare and the recapturing of towns, as well as hiding crashed pilots.
Partisan Heart tells the story of a Gypsy girl who follows her beloved into the forests of Poland and the Ukraine.  Their partisan group is willing to risk their lives blowing up train trestles, attacking SS killer squads, and to infiltrate Nazis intelligence to destroy Nazi Germany.  Resistance does exist.  If nothing else, to die with dignity is a form of resistance. hhttp://bookswelove.net or  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AZ6VTFE/

“I am a Jew fighting for his people and I’m fighting for your people, too. I don’t need you fighting me.” He opened his arms to her.
Vanya moved into his embrace. After a long silence she lifted her face up to him and took his hard kiss. She responded with urgency and passion. He fueled the fire within her and she didn't want to stop.
He kissed her cheek, then moved to nibble on her ear lobe.
“I love how you kiss me,” she said somewhat breathless.
He answered with a trail of kisses down her neck . . . lower and lower.  She allowed him to pop open the first few buttons on her blouse. He pinned her back against a tree and buried his face into her cleavage. The sensation shook her to the core. She should tell him to stop, but she truly didn't want him to.
How or when he slipped the remaining buttons free, she couldn't say.

Genesee

Before "The Wild, Wild West," there was a "Wild, Wild East." In honor of our First President, I'm sharing a book about a love story set during America's revolutionary war as it happened in upstate New York, a place which was then full of Indians and many different settler traditions.
GENESEE by Juliet Waldron is an extraordinary book about love, hardship and prejudice. It's well written and full of wonderful characters. Even though they have many differences, Genesee and Alexander are true kindred spirits. Ms. Waldron keeps you enthralled by, a little at a time, giving tantalizing tidbits of their origins. This story isn't sugarcoated, which is really refreshing. There are some instances of violence, but they're brief and handled well. Anyone who enjoys an honest, realistic story will love this one. Renee Burnette, Amazon Reviewer

"Genesee is a fascinating look into the early life of upstate New York during the [American Revolution]. Juliet Waldron makes you feel as if you're experiencing Genesee's trials and tribulations right alongside her…elements that meld very effectively to make this outstanding story one well worth reading over and over."
~ Lani Roberts
Affaire de Coeur

`. . . The story of confidence in one's self, faith in love and the resilience of the human spirit, "Genesee" is an entertaining romantic adventure set in a young America, but its lessons are timeless.'

5-star review on Amazon - “Edgy medieval, Yeah!”

"Schartz is an accomplished writer, whose pacing, conflicts, and goals are always complex and whose good characters are always likeable, and whose villains are evil incarnate. You have to like her villains as much as the good guys! Mattacks is a magnificent example of this!" - 5 stars - Manic Readers

Deadly Secrets

Deadly Secrets by Jude Pittman

Welcome to Indian Creek, Texas, where you'll meet some amazing characters. Kelly McWinter, a retired cop who suffered a personal tragedy that caused him to quit the force. Kelly's dog, Jake, a German Shepherd who has fought some battles of his own, and Cameron G. Belscher III, owner of the Hideaway Bar and Barbecue and Kelly’s best friend.

A Clint Eastwood, John Wayne type of guy, Kelly has been coming to grips with his personal grief and is once again feeling the pull to return to law enforcement.  That decision escalates when he and Jake find one of the Hideaway’s favourite characters dead on the floor of the flea market.

Coincidences, the emergence of a secret life, a treasure, an heiress searching for her birth mother and the ulterior motives of some of the Creek’s own citizens all have Kelly scrambling to uncover the truth before his best friend ends up being convicted of a crime that Kelly is positive he didn’t commit.
"Deadly Secrets is a mystifying tale with several twists and turns and an ending that surprised me. This book has an old-fashioned detective story feel to it that is charming and complements the small town atmosphere ... the story had a good flow, with well fleshed out characters and I would look forward to reading more suspense from this author." ~ Fallen Angel Reviews

Reluctant Date

In a rut, and with her love life at an all time low, Claire Harris makes a New Year’s resolution to join an Internet dating agency. Her challenge is twelve dates or twelve months, whichever comes first, unless she is lucky enough to meet Mister Right along the way. On her final date, and convinced that only frogs are left in the dating pool, she is relieved that it’s nearly over…until she meets enigmatic American, Daniel Marchant. The only problem is, his brother has set him up, and Daniel makes it very clear that he’s not interested in dating anyone at all. He is looking for someone to work in his developing conservation research company though, and when he discovers that Claire has the photographic and cataloguing skills he needs, he offers her a dream job in Florida.

But Dolphin Key is not as idyllic as it seems. There are too many secrets and too much heartache. And Claire has her own secrets as well. Not that she is going to share them with anyone, least of all with Daniel, because he must never know he has stolen her heart.
