More and more I'm noticing people use the phrase 'and I' incorrectly. On TV, Facebook, and on group messages people are using 'and I' instead of 'me'.
It's so simple to determine the correct usage of 'I' or 'me'. Simply remove the name and the word and and you're left with 'I'. If you've used 'I' correctly the sentence will make sense.
Example: Joe and I went to the store. Remove Joe and. You're left with I went to the store. Makes sense so 'I' is correct.
Example of wrong usuage: Carol went to the store with Joe and I. Remove Joe and. You're left with Carol went to the store with I. Obviously, 'I' is incorrect. It should be me. Carol went to the store with me.
Yet, people constantly use 'and I'.

Life Changes
No, I'm not rushing it. We used to have Christmas at our house, but since we moved to a smaller place, I've have to let my kids take over. So, since no one is here for Christmas, but they all come over on Thanksgiving I put the tree up before. (they don't all come for dinner - we don't have room for that, which is why I still have Thanksgiving. Most of them come later for dessert.)
I do miss having Christmas at my house. I loved the hustle and bustle of getting ready, seeing which family arrived first, and watching the faces of the little ones when they saw the gifts under the tree. I miss the commotion of everyone arriving, and I especially miss cooking dinner.
But things change and we have to accept things are different, which brings me to my book - Time to Love Again. For Rose Asbury the changes are extreme. Christmas isn't the same. Life isn't the same.
Fifty-eight year old, Rose Asbury doesn't care that people think she's a recluse. She just wants to be left alone. She doesn't need anyone and no one needs her and that's just fine. At least she didn't until this year. For some reason this holiday season is different. Suddenly, she's melancholy and discontent with her life.
Ad the man next door doesn't help matters. He insists on speaking to her. So her stomach tumbles every time she sees him. That doesn't mean anything. Hunger pangs, nerves, she just wishes he'd leave her alone.To top it all off, his granddaughter and her friends insist on playing in Rose's yard, sledding, building snowmen, and throwing snowballs at her house.
Then her sister's ghost shows up. Can the man next door, his granddaughter, and her sister's ghost bring Rose out of seclusion?

Another Day, Another Dollar
We've all heard the phrase and for most of us, it's meaningless. But Another Day for Meg Baldwin isn't just that.
Guilt ridden and full of shame, 42 year old, Meg tries to move on with her life after allowing her young, sexy neighbor seduce her.
Now she has to figure out how to keep her husband and (God forbid) her children from finding out.
But the neighbor isn't about to give up. Not one to accept rejection, he pursues Meg to the point of stalking her.

Deadbeat Dads
Where did the idea come from for the book?
This idea came from my husband. He went to the bank and said two women were having a conversation about men who don't pay child support.
What genre does your book fall under?
Women's Fiction
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Boy that's a tough one. I can't honestly say.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
When Erica Morris's husband leaves her for a younger woman, her life drastically changes.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I'm still working on it. Off and on for three years.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Not sure there is one.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
My husband came home with the idea. He heard it at a bank between two women. Also a few friends who have gone through divorce.
What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?
It's not just about divorce or deadbeat dads. Erica starts a support group for women dealing with deadbeat dads. In the process she manages to contact some of the men, is being black mailed and meets a man with a deadbeat wife.
