Six Sentence Sunday

I've decided to do another six from my upcoming release Double the Trouble.
Imagine finding a dead body in the cemetery - above the ground. That's exactly what happened to confirmed bachelorette, Kate Wesley, when she returns  to her hometown and opens a Florist shop after a five year absence, Content with her single life, she doesn't need or want a man. The fact that suddenly two are vying for her attention annoys her. The fact that one is her ex finace annoys her even more and worse, he's the detective in charge of the murder investigation.

Already the police were checking the body for vital signs.

“She’s dead all right, sir,” one of them said.

“It isn’t unusual to find dead bodies in a cemetery, but it is to find one above ground.” Adam smiled at his own joke.
Kate cringed. He hasn’t changed much. Still made jokes at the oddest times.

Hi Roseanne,
Here's mine: It's from my WIP, Tempted By Love, Phillip has been diagnosed with cancer and instead of relying on his wife, Constance's for strength and encouragement, he withdraws. He announces one night after intercourse that they can't have sex because it hurts too much:

"She recalled the last time she and Phillip had had intercourse, which had been many months earlier when he’d professed after their five-minute ritual, “We can’t do this anymore. It hurts too much,” with as much callousness and nonchalance as if he’d said he couldn’t cut the grass anymore."

Have a blessed day.

Sounds like a good plot. I like that one of the men is a detective and even better that they just found a body.

That's a detective for you, jokes at times others feel are inappropriate. Great job!

Cops can have odd senses of humor for sure. Nice six!

No wonder the guy annoys her! But does he have other qualities that make up for his strange sense of humor? I'm curious about the other guy who's interested in her too.
Good six sentences.

Finding bodies like that can be more than a little unnerving. I hope she sorts out his sense of humor. :o)
